Doctor's assistant at Zwaag GP practice – Pijls

Are you looking for a job where you do something different every day, have direct contact with patients and use your medical and organisational talents, all in a friendly team with short lines of communication and fixed working hours? Then the position of doctor's assistant at Huisartsenpraktijk Zwaag – Pijls is perfect for you. You will be the point of contact during consultation hours, perform medical procedures, take care of everything behind the scenes, and ensure that patients receive the right care. That's how you make a difference.

This is what your work looks like

As a doctor's assistant, you are the point of contact for patients. You schedule appointments, answer phone calls and help patients by quickly assessing their care needs and determining what follow-up action is required. Whether it's a worried young mother or an elderly man who has fallen with his walker, you know how to reassure patients and guide them forward with confidence. Meanwhile, you ensure that the files are completely accurate and that everything is ready for the consultation hour. During the consultation hour, you support the doctor where necessary and ensure that everything runs smoothly.

However, you do more than just administration and planning; you like to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in. You perform various medical procedures during your own consultation hours, such as measuring blood pressure, giving injections, removing stitches, syringing ears and performing urine tests. And if a colleague needs extra help, you step in where necessary and actively contribute to the team.

Working with our team

At Zwaag – Pijls General Practice, there is a pleasant and energetic atmosphere, where fun and professionalism go hand in hand. There is always room for a joke, sharing successes and celebrating special moments. The team makes the most of everyone's talents; do you have a special quality or passion? Then we will work together to see how we can best utilise it in your role. Since we switched to a new GP information system, we work even better together, share tips and tricks, and think collectively about how we can make our work processes smarter and easier. This creates a cheerful, energetic working atmosphere in which it is nice to work every day – professionally and with pleasure.

Your qualities

You have completed training as a doctor's assistant and also have the following to offer:

  • Flexibility and overview: You can easily jump from one task to another without losing track of the big picture.
  • Team player: You are the colleague who really completes the team, always willing to help out and work together.
  • Care and attention to detail: You ensure that everything is correct, from medical records to administration and files.
  • Good communication skills: You reassure patients, give clear instructions and know how to communicate information clearly, both to patients and colleagues.
  • Stress-resistant and organised: Even during busy periods, you maintain an overview and work in a structured manner.

Salary and extras

This is how we ensure that you can enjoy your work:

  • A salary of €2,724.00 – €3,942.00 per month for 38 hours (General Practitioner Care Collective Labour Agreement, scale 4–5), commensurate with your experience and responsibilities.
  • A part-time position of 17 to 25.5 hours per week, with Tuesday and Wednesday as fixed working days.
  • A one-year contract with the prospect of permanent employment.
  • 25 days of leave (based on a 38-hour working week), 8% holiday allowance and an end-of-year bonus of 8.33%.
  • Growth opportunities and training: plenty of scope for additional training and courses to further develop your skills.
  • A personal life-stage budget of 20 hours per year to spend on study, informal care, extra leisure time or winding down towards retirement.
  • Pension accrual via the Pension Fund for Health and Social Welfare and discount on supplementary insurance with Zorg en Zekerheid.
  • A team that makes the most of your talents: do you have any special qualities or interests? Together, we will look at how we can best utilise them.
  • A pleasant, motivating working atmosphere, in which colleagues share successes, exchange tips and support each other with new systems such as our general practitioner information system.
  • Room for initiative and influence on how you shape your work and work processes, so that you can truly contribute ideas about the practical organisation.
